Then (1968) and Now (August 2001)
Some things change and others do not, even after 33 years.

Tan Cang Bar
This is a bar that we used to hang out at when we got down to the Saigon Docks. It is at 58 Trinh Minh The Street. This street runs along K Docks. |
Now the building is sitting empty with a notice posted next to the door. I still have not had it transulated.

M & M Docks
This is Be who is standing at the side of the road just as you leave M & M Docks. Just behind her on the left is an area where we parked our trucks till we had enough for a convoy. |
This is where Miss Be was standing
The buildings in the foreground were not here then. The building in the back is just past the place where the truck is parked in the other picture.

Saigon Port Building
In 1969 I had an apartment in this building. This is the picture that I took now. I do not have a before picture but it does not matter much. This building looks just as it did then. It was this same faded blue, yellow, green, color. I do not think they even painted it in 32 years. |
